Private Psilocybin & Ayahuasca Retreats in Costa Rica

A small wooden house in the mountains of Costa Rica, reserved entirely for your process.

Who Visits Us?

People come to Lian House for different reasons.

Some arrive feeling tired from noise, pressure, and constant movement. Others come during a meaningful moment in life — a time when something inside asks for more space, honesty, and attention.

Many of our guests are not looking for a large retreat center, a fixed group program, or a room full of strangers. They are looking for a quieter place where they can step away from daily life and focus on what is asking to be seen.

Lian House is for people who value privacy, simplicity, and a more personal way of being supported. It is for those who want to enter the experience without performance, distraction, or the pressure to explain themselves to a group.

You do not need to arrive with perfect clarity. You only need to arrive with sincerity, openness, and respect for the process.

What Is Lian House?

Lian House is a small wooden cabin at the end of a quiet mountain village in Pérez Zeledón, Costa Rica.

The house was built with local timber by a local elder using simple, traditional methods. For many years, it was simply a home — a place shaped by wood, weather, mountain air, and the rhythm of the land.

Today, it has become a private retreat space for people who want to step outside of ordinary life for a few days and enter a slower, more natural environment.

Around the house are green pastures, mountain views, trees, birds, animals, and changing skies. Clouds move through the valley. The nights are filled with insects, frogs, wind, and the soft glow of candlelight.

It is not a hotel. It is not a resort. It is a simple, intimate place created for people who are looking for something real.

How Each Retreat Is Created

Before each retreat, we take time to understand who is coming, why they are coming, and what kind of support may be needed.

This usually begins with a conversation. We speak about your intentions, your current life situation, your experience with plant medicines or psychedelics, your emotional state, your expectations, and anything important for safety and preparation.

From there, the retreat is shaped in a way that fits the person or private group. Some people need more silence. Some need more conversation. Some want time in nature, massage, fire, music, journaling, or simply a quiet place to rest.

There is no rigid hourly schedule that every guest must follow. The structure exists, but it remains spacious. Arrival, preparation, ceremony, rest, meals, integration, and time in nature are held in a way that allows the experience to unfold without unnecessary pressure.

Our role is not to force a process. It is to create the right conditions: safety, presence, clear preparation, respectful guidance, and enough space for your own experience to move at its natural rhythm.

The Magic Garden and Life Around It

Around the cabin, we are creating the Magic Garden — a living collection of ceremonial, ethnobotanical, and medicinal plants gathered with care over time. The garden is part of the identity of Lian House, and it continues to grow with the place.

Daily life here is simple and close to nature. Our German Shepherds, sheep, chickens, and cat are part of the land. Their presence brings warmth, movement, and a feeling of home to the property.

Depending on your stay and your needs, there may be time for a walk through nearby pastures, a visit to a waterfall, horseback riding, a massage, or an evening by the fire. Some guests feel drawn to explore. Others prefer to remain quiet, read, write, rest, or spend time alone.

At night, the wooden cabin changes completely. Candlelight, the smell of wood, the sound of insects, and the darkness of the mountains create a different kind of atmosphere — simple, raw, and deeply grounding.
The garden, animals, bonfires, waterfalls, and daily rhythm are part of what makes life at Lian House simple and grounding. You can explore more about Life at Lian House

The Beauty of Simplicity

Lian House is intentionally simple.

Guests sleep in a small rustic bedroom or on a comfortable mattress inside the wooden cabin. In the morning, light enters through the spaces between the boards, and the sounds of birds, wind, and the countryside replace the noise of ordinary life.

This is not a luxury resort with polished rooms, spa corridors, or a large staff moving around you. The comfort here is quieter: a clean space, warm food, candlelight, nature, privacy, and enough time to slow down.

The simplicity of the place is part of the experience. It helps remove distraction. It brings attention back to the body, the breath, the fire, the trees, the sounds outside, and the experience unfolding inside.

For the right person, this simplicity is not a limitation. It is what makes the space feel honest.

Psilocybin Retreats

Our private psilocybin retreats are created for individuals, couples, and small private groups who want a calm and carefully held experience in Costa Rica.

Psilocybin is often chosen by people who feel ready to slow down, look inward, reconnect with themselves, and explore their inner world in a quiet environment.

We offer different formats depending on the amount of time and depth you are looking for — from a focused one-night ceremony to longer retreats with more space for rest, preparation, nature, and integration.

Ayahuasca Retreats

Our private ayahuasca retreats are created for people who feel called to a deeper ceremonial experience in a quiet, personal setting.

Each retreat begins with preparation and a clear conversation about your intention, your expectations, and your current life situation. The ceremony is held with care, and the days around it are kept spacious so there is time to rest, reflect, and integrate what arises.

These retreats are not open group ceremonies. They are private experiences for one person, a couple, or a small group of people who already know and trust each other.
